Join Sarasota County FOP Lodge 45

We would love for you to join Sarasota’s Law Enforcement Officers Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #45.

Eligibility

Who can join

Any full-time or retired law enforcement officer may join the FOP.

Specifically: you can join if you are a regularly appointed or elected and full-time employed law enforcement officer of the United States, any state or political subdivision thereof, or any agency.

Our membership committee performs a background check on every applicant to confirm current or honorably retired status before the lodge votes on the application.

Common questions

Before you apply

I am retired. Can I still join?
Yes. Honorably retired law enforcement officers are eligible for membership on the same terms as active officers.
I work for a federal agency, not a Sarasota County agency.
Eligibility covers officers of the United States, any state or political subdivision thereof, or any agency. Several of our members came from federal service.
What does membership actually get me?
A vote in the lodge, access to the members-only support network, scholarship eligibility for your children and grandchildren, and the backing of the largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers in the country.
When are dues due?
Dues run $52 annually. You can pay by mail with your application, or online at any time through our secure dues page.
Can civilians join or support the lodge?
Full membership is limited to sworn officers, but anyone can support the lodge's community and scholarship work through a donation.
